Amidst the turmoil regarding their coach, the West Indies squad touched down in Dubai for their tour of Pakistan in the UAE.
Despite the series set to begin only on September 23, the squad arrived ahead of schedule on Thursday morning.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) sacked Phil Simmons as coach on Wednesday with Joel Garner to take charge for the tour.
The squad were given the opportunity of a training session on Thursday itself but with it being an optional training session, the players decided to take rest because of jet lag following a long haul flight via Heathrow in London.
The West Indies, who were impressed by the world class facilities at the ICC Cricket Academy at the Dubai Sports City (DSC), are set to use it as their base over the next fortnight. They had used the facilities here prior to their sojourn to India for the World Twenty20.
The squad will train at the ICC Cricket Academy over the next three days. They will have morning sessions on Friday and Saturday and an evening session on Sunday.

The Pakistan squad are scheduled to arrive on Sunday.
The West Indies are set to play a warm-up T20 game against an Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) XI at the ICC Cricket Academy on September 20.
The series consists of three T20 Internationals, three One Day Internationals and three Tests, which includes the first ever day-night Test in the UAE.
World Twenty20 champions the West Indies take on Pakistan in the back-to-back T20 Internationals at the 'Ring of Fire' that is the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 23 and 24.
The third T20 International will be played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on September 27.
The teams then make the trip to Sharjah for two One Day Internationals at the iconic Sharjah Cricket Stadium on September 30 and October 2.
After a two-day warm-up game between the West Indies and a ECB XI at the ICC Cricket Academy on October 3 and 4, Pakistan and the West Indies travel to Abu Dhabi for the third ODI on October 5.
The West Indies will then play a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Patrons XI over three days, under lights to prepare for the first Test.
The historic first day-night Test on these shores will be played with the Pink Ball under lights at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium from October 13 to 17. The second Test is in Abu Dhabi from October 21 and 25 with the final Test pencilled in for Sharjah from October 30 to November 3.
