Yas Marina Circuit and Jaguar agreement offers visitors a chance to drive F-Type S Coupe on the Formula One race track.
Now visitors to the Yas Marina Circuit can burn rubber on the same track where reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton clocked the fastest lap at last year's Grand Prix.
Yas Marina Circuit and Jaguar on Wednesday announced a new partnership that brings the British brand's four sports cars to the Abu Dhabi racetrack.
Visitors can choose to be passengers or pilots and experience the Formula One track in Jaguar's F-Type S Coupe.
Yas Marina Circuit CEO Al Tareq Al Ameri said this unique experience will be very popular. "Now visitors have even more choice of driver and passenger experiences. The performance and power of the Jaguar F-Type is a perfect match for our circuit," he said.
Yas Marina Circuit retail development head Faisal Al Sahlawi said the three-year agreement is a 'win-win situation' for both the brands.
"We like to look at Yas Marina as a theme park but visitors get to drive their own rollercoaster," Al Sahlawwi said during the event held at the circuit.
"People can also go online and book their tickets at the Yas Marina Circuit website," he added.
The 'Jaguar Experience' will be open to public from June 2 with the driver experience priced at Dh1,300 and the passenger experience costing Dh500.
The collaboration is first of its kind for Jaguar in the Mena region, said Jaguar Land Rover Mena brand director Chris Wilde.
"This is very special day for Jaguar as this is the first 'Jaguar Experience' that we have launched officially in the Mena region. This will give people the opportunity to drive Jaguar sports car on one of the best Formula 1 track in the world. "Jaguar F-Type S Coupe is engineered for high performance and responsive handling to deliver an exhilaratingly instinctive driving experience," he said.
On future projects, he said: "We are looking at more projects but first we want to make this a success."
The Jaguar F-Type S Coupe takes the driver from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, and on to a top speed limited at 275 km/h, delivering a smooth performance.
