In 2020, QS World University Rankings, one of the world's most respected and recognised university ranking agencies, named American University of Sharjah (AUS) the best university in the Middle East for business and management studies (tied). The rankings take into account feedback from employers and academics regarding the standard of business and management education provided, along with the quality and volume of research undertaken by the university's business and management faculty.

Dr Narjess Boubakri, Dean of the AUS School of Business Administration (SBA), said the ranking points to the outstanding reputation of AUS.

"Our alumni enjoy enviable employment rates. Organisations such as PwC, Deloitte, Emirates Airlines and Mastercard offer internship and employment opportunities for our students. Graduates have also been accepted into master's and PhD programmes at prestigious institutions including Harvard University, London School of Economics, HEC-School of Management and The University of Manchester, among others," she said.

Undergraduate students in SBA's Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) programme can choose from six majors: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management and management information systems. The school also offers one of only two Bachelor of Arts in Economics programmes in the UAE. At the graduate level, SBA will expand its offering by launching a PhD in Business Administration in the fall semester. This adds to the school's current graduate portfolio, which consists of a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance. AUS offers a range of financial assistance to qualified undergraduate and graduate students.

Experiential learning is the focus of SBA's programmes, facilitated by rigourous internships and the school's interactive trading floor. The facility is designed to be the exact duplication of a typical Wall Street or Dubai International Financial Center investment firm, allowing students to practice new-found skills using live feeds, industry software and analytical tools. This emphasis on experiential learning has also seen Bloomberg grant AUS Experiential Learning Partner Status. AUS is the first in the region and only one of 35 universities worldwide to receive this distinction.

SBA's efforts to ensure that its curriculum is in-sync with the evolving trends of regional and global marketplaces and that its students are provided with the most up-to-date methods of instruction have been recognised internationally with accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).

An AUS education offers outstanding opportunities to business and management students. Encouraged by committed faculty, students and graduates from the AUS School of Business Administration are making an impact in public and private sectors, driving innovation and entrepreneurship, becoming organisational leaders and spearheading social change. The standard of teaching, learning and research at SBA has seen AUS' business and management programmes ranked number one (tied) in the region by QS World University Subject Rankings. We invite you to discover more about SBA and what it can offer to an undergraduate or graduate student.
