Of course, if we're talking trending, this old favourite (read: super annoying) game had to rear its colourful head again. But how's this one different from its jiggling, sugar-loaded predecessor? It's full of new game modes, features and boss battles featuring the Jelly Queen, with new candies, booster and a treetop world to explore in the Candy Kingdom! Okay, honestly, we have no idea what all that is about, but if you're an existing Candy Crush aficionado, go on - knock yourself out.
Face Swap Live
If you haven't heard of this one yet, you've really been living under a rock. These days, apps rarely surprise people like they used to, but the new Face Swap Live is quite the rage, spawning probably millions of funny videos, Whatsapp exchanges, and Internet memes. As the name goes, you can swap faces with your friends, or whoever else is facing the camera with you, or even with photos saved on your phone, or with those of celebrities, and amuse yourself and your friends. There are similar apps, but they only let you use static photos, whereas Face Swap Live lets you record video faces live. Warning: this one's really addictive!
Slacker
No, no. It's not an app that helps you get lazier or goof off (you wish!). It's even better! Slacker is one of the best free music streaming services available, and puts millions of songs and hundreds of programmed stations at yaour fingertips. It also bridges the gap between computer-generated playlists and curated stations, positioning itself as a "human powered radio". Touted as the next Pandora or Spotify, or maybe even better, this made-for-mobile app is designed to give you complete control over your music choices; even download for offline listening with an upgraded subscription.
Netflix
It's no secret that Netflix is now available in the UAE, and if you haven't gotten onto the binge-watching bandwagon yet, what are you waiting for? (Don't try to resist it, it's futile.). And even if their UAE service shows less than half the number of TV shows and movies available in the US. who cares? Just the fact that Netflix is finally here is enough for our telly-tuned selves to rejoice. You can even try it free for a month before committing to the paid monthly service.
