Car controls at your fingertips by touch sensing technology

Similar to computer touch screen technologies the functions are controlled at the touch of a finger, interfacing with driver information and communication systems.

A key feature is the capability for handwriting recognition that the system recognizes as shortcut commands, according to the company.

It combines control functions to help reduce driver distraction and enables fast and intuitive operation of mobile phones and navigation systems.

The touch-sensitive controls can be spread over thinner, complex and uneven surfaces, providing numerous styling and design functions and ‘transforming interiors into a more customized and efficient space for occupants,’ TRW says.
