If you are a Facebook addict, sharing your life updates on the platform has just become easier.
Facebook has integrated a Snapchat-like feature on its app. We tried the new feature and love it already. Don't be surprised if your timeline is flooded with these stories, valid for 24 hours.
First Facebook ripped off and copied Snapchat's 'Stories' feature on Instagram, and it then went ahead and added the feature on its second product, WhatsApp.This week, the company went a notch higher and added it inside Facebook!
If you are familiar with Snapchat, Instagram or WhatsApp stories, you know the drill.

How it works?

The app has a new camera feature on the left corner screen of your News Feed.
Just like all the other apps, long hold the button to record a video or give a tap to take a picture. You will notice that Facebook allows you to make longer videos than Instagram and Snapchat at 20 seconds.  It also allows uploads of previous picture from your camera roll.
So, choose a picture and share to make your post and share it - either on your timeline or send it directly with your friends.
If a friend sends you a direct photo or video, you can view and reply in the direct section of the app. The photo and video will be available till you conversation lasts and valid only for 24 hours.
Many filters to choose from
The main differentiator for Facebook Stories from the other apps is the many filters it offers to play around with (like Snapchat). While Instagram allows you to add stickers on the photo or video after the picture is clicked, Facebook allows to add an animated filter before clicking the picture.
Just like filters on Instagram stories, you can add frames, masks or effects to your stories on Facebook. The app allows you to add a text caption or doodle. You can also save the picture for a later upload.

Three options to post:

1. Just like Facebook posts, you can share the story with the desired audience and choose them using the audience selector. It gives you four options to share with Public, Friends, Only me and Friends except.
2. You can share as My Story and your photo or video will be added to your timeline on Facebook.
3. Send directly to your friends.
If you are having a second thought about the post you just made, you can delete your picture or video story by opening it and exploring the options.
So, go ahead and play around with the app!
