Keeping vegans in mind, Google removed egg from its salad emoji that has a bowl filled with greens and two tomato slices.
Earlier, there was also a slice of boiled egg in the salad bowl which has now gone and Google UX Manager at Expression design team, Jennifer Daniel, tweeted about the change on Wednesday.
Daniel wrote on Twitter: "There's big talk about inclusion and diversity at Google so if you need any evidence of Google is making this priority may I direct your attention to the emoji- we've removed the egg in Android P beta 2, making this a more inclusive vegan salad." The tweet was accompanied by before and after image of the salad emoji, according to Mashable report.

Hello carnivores, vegans and everyone in between! Just want to clarify that the goal of salad emoji redesign was to create an image more faithful to unicode's description. "A bowl of healthy salad, containing lettuce, tomato, and other salad items such as cucumber." Bon appetite! As soon as her tweet was posted, some Twitter users were quick to notice that the new emoji does not seem to contain any cucumbers!

Explain this? You can't. I'll do it for you. It's called nature. pic.twitter.com/dCYFYZWH4H

Niles,
I can explain it: These eggs identify as vegan. Anyone who sneers at that is obviously a bigoted, science-denying eggist. ?? ?? ??
This discussion has made me hungry. I think I'll fix myself a vegan cheese omelet.

I'm 99.930 sure that's not the kind of eggs you eat in salads. These are https://t.co/nXeSRxRhPP and that's not vegan

"Vegans" do not consume anything originating from animals. Some vegans do not drink milk for the same reason. This isn't up for politicizing, that's the definition of a vegan.
