Camera phones have come a long way since November 2000. What we have today will simply blow your mind, figuratively speaking. In our earlier video, we had reviewed Oppo Reno with 10X Zoom and today we have the New Oppo Reno Series with 60X Digital Zoom. The smartphone features a 48MP HD primary lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens. It is one of the few smartphones in the market today with notch-free full view OLED display and shark fin pop up selfie camera with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Looks impressive on paper but does it live up to the expectations? Let's take a look.
Unboxing
The box is the same as Oppo Reno with 10X Zoom. It has rear cameras and says 10X Zoom on the cover. Let's open the box and see what's inside.
Oppo Reno with 60X Digital Zoom comes in two variants - Ocean Green and Jet Black. The box is equipped with a cover, VOOC 3.0 fast-charger, a pair of USB - Type C Cable as well as USB Type C Headphones with an additional pair ear tips and sim ejector pin. Oppo Reno looks amazing and it is outright premium. A definite eye catcher, let's unravel how the camera and hardware performs.
Design & Hardware
Oppo Reno 60X Digital Zoom has a notch-free full view 6.6 inches OLED display and Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. Screen is bright and colors are vivid whether you are playing a game, reading or watching a video. Oppo Reno comes with VOOC 3.0 fast charger that charges the phone from 0 to 75% in 30 minutes. So far, it is safe to say that Oppo Reno has not failed to impress us with its performance and built quality. Now it's time to put Oppo Reno's marquee feature to test.
Camera performance with Oppo Reno 60X Digital Zoom
We are super excited to put Oppo Reno's camera to test. Let's start with the Shark Fin - 16MP Selfie Camera. The motorised camera pops out in less than 0.8 seconds, never keeping you waiting for that quick selfie. Image quality of the selfie camera is quite good, to say the least. The Triple Camera with 60X Zoom - I always wanted a camera with great zoom, which doesn't compromise on image quality.
To to test this camera, we went to the Palm Jumeirah, one of the most exotic locations in Dubai. With the 60X Zoom, we managed to capture astounding these images of Burj Al Arab, the sun setting over the Atlantis and of the moon rise. To be honest, we were not surprised.
The camera performance is excellent and the reach is amazing, giving creativity and smartphone photography a pair of strong wings. So fly high, my friends.
Oppo Reno Series also comes with Night Mode 2.0 and supports video shooting at 4K UHD at 60 fps. This definitely makes photography and film making on smartphones more exciting.
So our overall verdict?
Oppo Reno Series with 60X Digital Zoom has thoroughly impressed us with its performance and the overall built quality. We recommend it to those looking for a high performance camera phone.
