Samsung's Galaxy Fold can be yours very soon - and it is a little bit more affordable in the UAE compared to its US pricing.
The much-hyped device - demonstrated by Samsung to UAE media in Dubai last week - was delayed for some months. It was originally slated for an April release, but due to issues pointed out by early reviewers, Samsung pushed it back to rectify them.
And based from what was seen last week, the device looks ready to rumble. Now, pre-orders are live in the UAE, which will run until October 16.
"Samsung has refined the Galaxy Fold to offer a powerful new way to multitask, watch videos, play games and more, bringing to life new experiences and possibilities," Tarek Sabbagh, head of Samsung Electronics Gulf's IT and mobile division, said in a statement.
The Galaxy Fold is priced at Dh7,199 - a tad lower than its announced $1,980 tag, which roughly converts to a shade below Dh7,300. Those who really want it should hurry, because it's only for a limited period and until stocks last.
Deliveries will start on October 17 for those who pre-order. In-store availability will be announced at a later date.
The Galaxy Fold has two displays: An outer 4.6-inch screen and the inner Infinity Flex display that, at 7.3 inches, offers up to 1.4 times more viewing than the recently-launched Galaxy Note10+. It also has 128GB of internal storage, 12GB of RAM and six cameras.
