Huawei Consumer Business Group announced its triumphant Mate 9 outperformed competing smartphones for the most efficient consumption of battery while playing music in a single charge conducted at Morlab Communications Laboratory in Shenzhen, China.

Morlab measured the percentage of battery used when Huawei's Mate 9 and four other competing smartphones played five minutes of continuous music.  The Huawei Mate 9 went up against five other similar devices including Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, the Sony XPERIA Z5 Premium Dual, LG's V20 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. These competitors were selected based on market price, screen size and battery capacity.
The test was conducted in accordance with Morlab testing policies and each smartphone was subject to controlled conditions. Each of the five devices used the native music playing application, was set to medium volume levels on headsets and hosted on the same frequency band. Measures were also taken to protect the results from uncontrolled third party influences.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. David Wang, UAE Country Manager said: "The results reinforce Huawei's Mate 9 as a standard-setting performance device. Innovation is at the core of everything we do at Huawei. We endeavor to offer devices that boast impressive features and when put to the ultimate test, outperform our competitors.  We're incredibly proud of our award winning performance and this achievement is a testament to Huawei's dedication for research and development and to the Mate 9's unrivaled performance."
The Huawei Mate 9 boasts a 60 per cent increase in battery life when compared to its predecessor the Mate 8. The smartphone also features breakthrough, safe SuperCharge technology that delivers a full day's charge in 20 minutes. The 4000mAh high-density battery coupled with the Mate 9's advanced power saving technology increases battery life to provide over two days of uninterrupted performance.
