We're about to witness what Samsung has in store for us as it unveils its new Galaxy Note10 at its Unpacked 2019 event in Brooklyn. And Khaleej Times is here to give you a blow-by-blow account. Starts at 12 midnight UAE time.
12:02am
And here we go; DJ Koh on the stage to kick things after a rather short intro. Talking about taking the next step into the future - 'experience innovation' - talking about productivity and security as we become more connected. Says the foundation for trust is security.
The 'ultimate power phone for power users' even for the most demanding users, DJ Koh says. Now we're getting serious.
12:10am
And there it is. Ladies and gentlemen, the Samsung Galaxy Note10. Sleek-looking.
12:12am
And there are two models, for the first time: the 6.3" Note10 and the 6.8" Note10+. 8mm thin, in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, practically no bezels.
12:16am
The Galaxy Note10's S Pen will also be useable on the recently-launched Galaxy Tab S6. And, of course, you can sync the Note10 to it. Seamless sharing and connectivity. Can convert your handwriting even into PDFs, and can understand dozens of languages.
12:20am
S Pen with remote control. In a nutshell, you can, for example, control the Note10's camera app with it, doing things such as zooming in/out, switching from the back or front camera and much more. On YouTube, meanwhile, you can control the volume and others. Interesting.
12:25am
Powerful photo capabilities brought to video too, such as applying bokeh effects. You can also zoom in on sound; zoom in on the video you're taking and the sound will adjust accordingly. Its super-steady feature also makes it a virtual action cam. There's also an entire video editing suite on the Note10.
12:28am
And what's a new smartphone without stickers? AI Doodle, as Samsung calls it, uses AR to, well, doodle around your photos. Including, of course, faces.
12:34am
More juicy details: The Note10 is prepped up for gaming - coming with a special cooling system to prevent it from heating up when things get, well, heated up in your game. Also has a better battery, which supports faster wireless charging. And - yes! - a 5G Note10!
12:40am
Galaxy Watch Active 2 being touted - the rotating bezel is back. Workout, workout, workout. And there's an Under Armour edition, too.
12:49am
Partnership with Microsoft announced, providing more seamless connectivity between Windows devices and the Note10, such as those on e-mail, docs and other essential tasks - and the S Pen is front and centre of it.
12:53am
And yet another new member of the family: The Galaxy Book S - a "notebook with the essence of a smartphone". Runs on Windows 10 and has a dedicated secure connection. And has 23 freaking hours of battery life.
12:58am
And now, for the prices. Feel free to check the image out while we roughly convert them to dirhams. Available August 23; pre-orders start tomorrow. As at this post, we're trying to get confirmation if the UAE is included in pre-orders.
1:01am
A really very special guest: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella! He's talking about the strengthening further of the ties between his company and Samsung.
JUST IN: Spec sheet of the Note10+ below - please bear with its length!
1:11am
JUST IN (again): The complete spec sheet of the Note10s. The Note10+ has a quad-camera.
And that's it. To end this, the UAE price for the Galaxy Note10 will be Dh3,499 (256GB/8GB); the Note10+ models, meanwhile, are at Dh3,999 (256GB/12GB) and Dh4,499 (512GB/12GB).
