WhatsApp regularly upgrades and introduces new functions to make it more appealing to its users with the most recent ones being live location sharing, WhatsApp Business, and more.
The latest feature to be launched soon is group video and voice calling on the messaging platform. This will be in beta mode which will allow calling option on groups. The new WhatsApp beta version for Android 2.18.39 will have the option of adding members to a voice or video call on a group, according to WABetainfo quoted in Hindustan Times.
The group voice and video calling screen opens with the video icon at the bottom and has an option to add members to the call which is located on the top right corner of the screen. While the second screen shows group members participating in the call.
Moreover, WhatsApp has also been testing the option to switch to a video call during a voice call at the same time. This will enable WhatsApp users to switch from voice to video calls without disconnecting, but this depends on the connectivity strength.
WABetaInfo also states that the new feature is now in the testing phase and is expected to come to the stable version soon.
