Munawar lifts title
Mohammed Munawar of Indian Social Center, Fujairah lifted the under-18 boys singles title after a splendid performance against Bernie Shaji of Indian Social Center, Fujairah. Munawar defeated Bernie Shaji 21-12, 21-10 in straight sets.
In the under-12 boys singles semifinals, Mohammed Zakir entered the final defeating Ritwik Sujith Nambiar in straight sets. He won the match scoring 21-14, 21-3.
In the under-14, girls singles, Sanjana R Shetty ousted Smruthi Murali 21-13, 21-4 to make it to the title round, while Anjali A Shenoy got the better of Swathi Krishna to enter the final of the under-16 girls singles.
Anjali beat Swathi Krishna 19-21, 21-13, 21-16. In the veteran singles (Above 40 years), Xavier Raphel outplayed Savio Thomas 21-14, 21-13 to book a berth in the final.
