Four of Sunday’s five qualifiers will be in action across Centre Court and Court One when the men’s main draw action of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships gets underway on Monday afternoon.

Slovakian Lukas Lacko beat Andrey Kuznetsov, of Russia, 6-2, 6-2 in the final elimination phase to earn a first-round clash against the Russian eighth seed Dmitry Tursunov on Centre Court at 2pm.

Meanwhile, over on Court One, Romanian qualifier Adrian Ungur will face Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut having seen off Greece’s Theodoros Angelinos 6-4, 6-2 in their crunch decider yesterday.

The other qualifiers are scheduled on fourth and last on Centre Court and Court One respectively, with Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker – a 6-4, 6-4 victor over Switzerland’s Marco Chiudinelli — encountering German seventh seed Philipp Kohlschreiber on the main show court.

The highly-experienced pairing of Nikolay Davydenko and Victor Hanescu will meet the second-seeded ‘Indo-Pak Express’ duo of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi in the initial stage of the men’s doubles on Court One. Davydenko and Hanescu overcame Germany’s Benjamin Becker and Kiwi Artem Sitak 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5).

Romania’s Marius Copil’s match with Czech third seed Tomas Berdych has been held over for another day following his 7-6 (0), 7-5 success over the Dutch first seed in qualifying, Jesse Huta Galung.

Elsewhere, Andreas Seppi against Florian Mayer is second up on Centre Court before the Swiss fourth seed and five-timer DDFTC champion Roger Federer begins his quest for a sixth title here against Becker from 7pm.

World number two Novak Djokovic is in doubles action alongside Spanish hitting partner Carlos Gomez-Herrera opposite Pole Tomasz Bednarek and the Czech Republic’s Lukas Dlouhy in the second game on Court One.

It’s then the turn of fourth seeds Ivan Dodig and Mikhail Youzhny as they take on Juan Martin del Potro and Radek Stepanek, although that match won’t take place before 5pm and is subject to a court change.
