Umm Al Quwain has announced 50 per cent discount on traffic fines for a limited time.
Starting on November 19 (Sunday), the UAQ Police will launch a 42-day grace period during which motorists can pay only 50 per cent against their traffic violations.
"The cut, effective from November 19 to December 31, is meant to mark the UAE's 46th National Day," said Col Humaid Ahmad Saeed Al Ali, deputy director of the UAQ traffic police.

The move is also aimed to decrease people's financial burdens and bring happiness to UAQ police customers."
The discount is available on all traffic violations committed on the emirate's roads, he added.
"However, the fine discount is only applicable on road violations committed before November 19."

Erring drivers should pay their fines via the Ministry of Interior's smart applications or at any service centre, Col Al Ali explained.
