Among the 23 vehicles seized during a drive by the General Department of Traffic, of the Dubai Police one had accumulated traffic fines of Dh104,990.
Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, Director of the General Department of Traffic, said that such campaigns will be continued to curb the reckless driving on Dubai roads, which endanger the life of other road users. He warned that the police will take strict action against those who violate traffic rules.
He pointed out that the ministerial decree no 127 of the year 2008 regarding the traffic control procedures and black point system has become an important step that made drivers more focusing and this has reduced death rate and injuries.
He said the Bur Dubai Traffic Department had conducted the campaign on August 29 in the Bur Dubai area and of the 23 cars seized, three were driving recklessly, three were not insured, ten had their registrations expired, and one had modified its colour and another had changed engine specification. One car was not licensed by the concerned authorities and two cars were caught for causing noise. — news@khaleejtimes.com
