Accidents, rush in Dubai ahead of New Year celebrations

As UAE residents and tourists rush to Dubai for the grand New Year celebrations across the city, slow moving traffic started to build up on the main roads.
According to Google Maps' live traffic view, slow moving traffic was observed on the emirate's arterial roads, leading towards DownTown Dubai and other spots from where the dazzling fireworks display can be easily viewed.
Motorists are taking alternate routes as roads are being closed around Dubai for the New Year fireworks.
Two accidents were reported on Shaikh Zayed Road's E11, towards Abu Dhabi.

As Sharjah gears up to celebrate its first New Year event with a grand fireworks display at Al Majaz Waterfront, traffic blocked the road around Al Majaz.
