With the slogan ‘A new meaning for luxury in transport’, the additional units in the VIP taxi fleet demonstrates the keenness of DTC to develop and improve its services to the public and achieve its strategic vision ‘Pioneers in Passenger Transport Services’, DTC said.
Ahmad Mohammad Al Hammadi, acting CEO of DTC, said the objectives of this service were achieved through the provision of quality service to DTC customers at Dubai airports and other vital facilities in the Emirate. This service is different from regular taxi service due to its privacy and luxury and is available to customers within Dubai airports Terminal 1 and 3, and outside upon the demand from the Reservation and Distribution Centre of the Public Transport Agency.
Started with 20 vehicles in June 2012, the VIP taxis were increased to 40 in different stages starting July 2013. With the new addition, a total of 60 taxis will be serving customers by the end of this year.
He said this service can directly be requested from the airport through a special equipped counter in the exit area for Arrivals in Dubai airports, or through the Reservation and Distribution Centre by calling 04-2080808, or through its presence at some public facilities.
The meter for this service starts at Dh50, and is featured by a special logo with a choice of black colour for vehicles of a particular type that carry white license plate numbers.
A special qualified team, which oversees the follow-up of the service indicators and measures the impact of its application on customers, is supervising the VIP taxi, including its development to reach DTC goals and vision, Al Hammadi added.
