The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the business hours of all transport-related services in Dubai during the Al Israa Wal Miraaj holiday today, including customers' service centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai metro and tram services, marine transit modes, driving schools; and vehicle testing and registration centres.

"All customer service centres will be closed during Al Israa Wal Miraaj holiday corresponding to today, and will be back to business on Sunday 8 May. All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate on Thursday with the exception of multi-level parking lots and the Fish Market parking area. Paid parking services will be reactivated on Saturday, May 7," said Yousef Al Reda, CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has declared on Thursday, May 5, an official holiday for the public sector to mark the 'Al Israa Wal Miraaj' holiday, work will resume on Sunday, May 8.

The official holiday to mark Israa and Miraj will be on May 5 for all workers in private sector enterprises, institutions and companies in the country, according to a ministerial circular issued.

Dubai Metro

The Metro Green Line stations on Thursday, May 5 will be in service from 05:50am to 01:00am (of the following day). On Wednesday and Saturday (May 4 and 7), stations will be in service from 05:50am to 12:00am (midnight), and on Friday, May 6, stations will be operating from 10:00am up to 01:00am (of the following day).

The Metro Red Line stations on Wednesday and Saturday, May 4 and 7 will be in service from 05:30am to 12:00am (midnight). On Thursday, May 5 stations will be in service from 05:30am to 01:00am (of the following day), and on Friday, May 6, stations will be operating from 10:00am up to 01:00am (of the following day).

Dubai Tram

The Dubai Tram will be in service on Thursday and Saturday, May 5 and 7 from 06:30am to 01:00am (of the following day), and on Friday, May 6 from 09:00am until 01:00am (of the following day.

Bus service in Dubai

All public bus services (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Main Bus Stations such as Gold Souk, will operate from 04:25am to 01:00am (of the following day) Al Ghubaiba Station will be in service from 05:00am to 12:10 midnight Sub-stations such as Satwa, will start from 05:00am to 11:15pm except for Route C01, which operates, around-the-clock Al Qusais Station will run bus service from 04:40am to 11:10pm Al Quoz Industrial Station will start operation from 05:00am to 11:35pm Jebel Ali Station will start from 05:40am and continue up to 09:45 pm

Metro feeder bus stations at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 05:15 am to 01:10 am (of the following day). Inter-city bus service will be operating as follows: Main stations such as Al Ghubaiba will remain operating around the clock to Sharjah (Jubail), and Abu Dhabi service will be run from 05:00am up to 11:40pm.

Substations such as Union Square will be in service from 04:30am up to 01:25am (of the following day). Al Sabkha Station will be operating from 06:00am until 01:30am (of the following day), Deira City Centre Station will be operating from 05:35am until 11:30pm, Karama Station will run from 06:10am until 10:20pm and Al Ahli Club Station will run from 06:05am to 10:25pm. External Stations such as Sharjah's Al Ta'awon will run from 05:30am until 10:00pm, Fujairah Station will operate from 06:00am until 10:05pm, Ajman Station from 04:30am until 10:00pm, and Hatta Station will be in operation from 06:00am until 10:05pm

Marine transport

"The timing of marine transit services will be as follows: The Water Bus will run at Marina Stations (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Promenade) from 12:00 at noon up to 12:00 midnight, while Dubai Ferry will be shuttling at Ghubaiba and Marina Stations from 11:00am to 01:00pm and from 05:00pm to 06:30pm. At the Marina, there will be a one-hour trip starting from 06:30pm. The Water Taxi will operate from 09:00 am until 10 pm.

"Abra timing will be as follows: Traditional Abra will operate in Dubai Creek Stations (Ghubaiba, Al Sabkha, Baniyas, and Dubai Old Souk), from 10:00am until 12:00midnight. The (Electric) Blue Abra will be operating at Burj Khalifa from 06:00pm until 11:00pm, at Al Mamzar from 02:00pm until 12:00 midnight, and at the Atlantis from 01:00pm until 09:00pm," explained Al Reda.

"All centers of strategic partners will be closed during Al Israa Wal Miraaj holiday except the Platinum Center, Tasjeel at Al Barsha Center, and Tasjeel at Al Qusais Center," concluded the CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

Abu Dhabi

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport in Abu Dhabi announced that Mawaqif services in all surface public parking bays will be free of charge on the occasion of Al Israa Wal Miraaj.

The free parking services will be available starting from Thursday May 5, to 7:59 am Saturday, May 7.

DMAT recommends all drivers to avoid parking their vehicles in prohibited areas at any time including residents' bays from 9 pm to 8 am.

In addition, all Customer Care Centres will be closed on Thursday May 5, 2016. Please note that Central Market Customer Care will be open on Friday May 6, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. (with inputs from Haseeb Haider)
