Motorists who are due for their driver's license or vehicle registration renewal can now avail of the services through the Customer Happiness Centre on Wheels.
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched on January 1 at the Last Exit in Al Khawaneej a smart bus that is fully equipped to issue vehicle registration, driver's license and parking cards.
"Introducing a mobile customers' happiness centre opens a new service outlet to serve the public, especially the people of determination, senior Emiratis and residents as well as other community segments," said Ahmed Mahboub, executive director of Customer Happiness at RTA's Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
The roving RTA customer service centre is initially available from January 1-10 at the Last Exit Khawaneej from 4pm -11pm.
"The mobile customer happiness Center will deliver vehicle licensing, driver's licensing, and parking cards services. It will deliver instant services as the coach is equipped with self-service machines, and employees will not intervene unless it is needed to help senior Emiratis or expats as well as people of determination," Mahboub explained.
"The Customer Happiness Centre on Wheels aims to boost customers' happiness through offering diverse service delivery channels, thus saving the time and effort of seeking the service at conventional service centres. The move is in line with the Dubai Government's Smart City initiative," he added.
The roving kiosk is RTA's 10th customer service aside from customers happiness centres, smart apps, service providers, website, call centres, bank devices, trusted dealers, text messages and self-service kiosks.
Mahboub said the RTA smart bus will be deployed for 10 days per month in each of the 14 geographical districts of Dubai.
He added: "Customers will be notified via text messages, website and social media about the location of the Center in each district. Plans are being made to broaden the scope of the service to cover the widest number of clients."
24/7 Smart kiosks
Before the mobile kiosk, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) rolled out last year two self-service kiosks that operate 24/7 at RTA's Customers Happiness Centre in Umm Al Ramool.
The smart kiosks provide a range of services, including renewal of license and registration of drivers and vehicles, and services related to no objection certificates (NOC). It also has a top-up machine for Salik and parking cards and an ATM enabling customers to top-up or use their eWallets.
Dubai Police smart station
Paying of traffic fines has been made easier and closer to residents of Arabian Ranches in Dubai.
Last month, the Dubai Police opened a new smart walk-in police station, open 24 hours, seven days a week, offering at least 25 key services, including reporting of traffic incidents and crimes, issuance of traffic accident reports, paying of impound fines and vehicle inspection request.
The services can be accessed in six different languages. Previously, the Dubai Police opened a Smart Police Station and drive-thru' station at City Walk, Dubai.
