Motorists in Abu Dhabi can now avail self-refuel facility for their vehicles by using smart cards as Adnoc Distribution has launched first phase of its self-refueling service in the capital.
Minister of Energy Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazroei on Tuesday inaugurated the pilot phase of smart self-refueling project under which 380 petrol pumps will be offering the service that will change the consumer behaviour in coming months. The pilot project will run untilOctober 1 and 140 petrol pumps in Abu Dhabi are expected to offer self-refueling service by year-end.
The new service will help the motorists to refuel vehicle in fast and easy way by using a smart tag, Adnoc Plus cards, Emirates ID or paying cash at the service stations. The oil distribution company will continue to offer the option of paying in cash, bank credit and debit cards, in the pilot phase.
The smart tag will cost Dh250 while Adnoc Plus cards will be issued for Dh50 with no renewal fee.
How to use self-refueling service To avail self-refueling service, customer will have to register for the Adnoc Wallet Account, which allow them to pay for their purchases in three different ways: Smart tag, a smart chip installed at the fuel inlet of the vehicles' fuel tank and linked to the Adnoc Wallet account Payment through the Adnoc Plus cards, which will be issued for Dh50 with no renewal fee Using Emirates ID cards that are also linked to the Adnoc Wallet and activated for payments. Adnoc Distribution will also continue to offer the option of paying in cash, bank credit and debit cards, in the pilot phase. |
