Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Works, has directed the concerned departments in the ministry to immediately take necessary measures, in coordination with the local government bodies, to replace all the directional signs on the roads, whether leading to it or intersecting with it.

Al Nuaimi said Emirates Road is being developed by the Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives of UAE President under the directive of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

When completed, the road will be one of the longest strategic routes linking all the emirates adjacent to the West Coast of the Arab Gulf starting from Abu Dhabi up to Ras Al Khaimah. The estimated Dh1.5-billion road will also be one of key land transport arteries that link the UAE with neighbouring GCC states - Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Emirates Road has been designed and implemented according to the latest international standards to provide easy, free traffics in all directions.
