Brig. Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director-General of Traffic Coordination at the ministry, has urged citizens to pay attention to the speed limits in those countries. “For instance, in Sultanate of Oman, a driver is confined for 48 hours if he exceeds the speed limit set on the road by 75kmph.”

Likewise, in Saudi Arabia, the competent authorities confine an errant motorist, who drives above the set speed limit. The confinement term is determined based on the speed detected.

Al Zaabi said that the allowed tinting percentage on window glasses of the vehicles in the GCC countries is 30, he said.
