The initiative is part of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior and is part of the ‘Until When’ campaign, being held across the country.

Trucks will not be allowed on the specified roads from 5.30am to 9.30am, 1pm to 3pm, and 5pm to 9pm. An official at the Department of Traffic and Patrols Unit in Sharjah said that 741 trucks driving along internal and external roads were seized between June 1 and 7. The heavy trucks and tankers were confiscated for seven days, and drivers received a fine of Dh200 and two black points.

The campaign has been initiated to ensure a smooth traffic flow across the emirate during peak hours, and to ensure that motorists arrive at their destination on time.
