The step is part of DTC’s efforts to raise their customer satisfaction rating and reduce complaints by providing innovative services.
Yousef Al Ali, CEO of DTC, said: “Customers’ satisfaction is the number one priority of DTC that witnessed a remarkable improvement thanks to a number of measures, initiatives and projects targeting the staff, cabbies or customers. ‘Remember’ is one of the initiatives launched of late by the DTC in response to the high rate of reported lost items on board cabs and the campaign has succeeded in inducing positive and significant improvements, as shown by DTC’s statistics.”
In 2010, the number of reported lost items soared to 27,705, with a found rate of 15 per cent. The rate of found items increased in 2011 to 28.8 per cent. In 2012, the number of lost items reported dipped to 12,811 and the found rate rose to 40 per cent.
Al Ali said: “The initiative is currently being promoted by paying official and friendly visits to various government and private entities, including Dubai Airports, hotels, malls and open markets, to explain the idea and objectives of this initiative and how to make suggestions, observations or report cases through contacting the RTA call centre (8009090) or visiting DTC website www.dubaitaxi.ae or RTA website www.rta.ae.”
The DTC’s Customer Service Office, located in Dubai Airports Terminal 3, oversees this initiative.
He called upon the public and visitors to cooperate with DTC by securing their belongings during taxi trips and asking for the trip’s invoice before stepping out of the taxi as the trip data, including the taxi side number, cab driver’s number, trip cost as well as the trip date and time, are important to trace the lost items.
