RTA announces timing of services during Eid holidays

The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has beefed up transport and related services for the Eid Al Adha holidays. Metro operational timings have been modified and parking will be free fromFriday, October 3, untilTuesday, October 7.

Announcing the timings of various services to be delivered during Eid Al Adha holidays at Customer Service Centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit modes, driving schools and institutes, and vehicles testing and registration centres, Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication at RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said that all customer service centres will remain closed during the holiday.

Free Parking

Al Marri said: “All Customers Service Centres will be closed during the Eid holidays starting fromFriday, October 3(Arafat day) and resume duty onTuesday, October 7. All paid parking zones in Dubai will be free to use during Eid holidays except for the parking lot at the Fish Market and the multi-level parking terminal as ofFriday, October 3, and fees will be activated as ofTuesday.

Dubai Metro timings

Explaining the service timing of the Dubai Metro stations during the Eid holidays, Al Marri said: “The Dubai Metro stations will be open for passengerson Thursday,Saturdayand Sunday(October 2, 4 and 5) from5.30amup to2am(on the following day), and on Friday, October 3, the Metro service will be operational from10amup to2am(on the following day).”

She added: “On the following days ofOctober 6 and 7(MondayandTuesday), the Metro service will start at5.30amup to1am(pastmidnight).

Bus services

Detailing the service timing of public buses during Eid Al Adha holidays, Al Marri said: “Public bus stations will start service as ofSaturday, October 4 until Monday, October 6.

Public bus stations including main stations such as the Gold Souq and Al Ghubaiba, the service will start at5.10amand continue up to12am(midnight). At the subsidiary stations of Satwa, Qusais, Al Quoz Industrial Area and Jebel Ali, the service to Jebel Ali Station will start from6am until 10pm, and for other stations it will be from5.30am until 11.45pmexcept for Route C01 which will be operational round-the-clock.

In the Metro feeder bus stations, such as Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta, Abu Hail, Etisalat, and Burj Khalifa, the service timing will be from5.15am to 1.10am(on the following day) noting that all Metro Feeder Bus Stations will be synchronised with the Metro operational hours.

"The timing of commercial buses and inter-city bus service will be as follows: Main stations (like Ghubaiba) will remain operational 24 hours a day, while subsidiary stations (such as Sabkha, Union Square, Deira City Center and Karama) will be on duty from 5.30amup to 12 (midnight). External stations such as Sharjah (Jubail – Bur Dubai) will be on service round-the-clock, while Abu Dhabi station will be operational from5am to 11.55pm(beforemidnight). Fujairah station will be running from6.40am to 10pm, and Ajman station will be on service from6am to 10pmwhile Hatta station will start service from5.30amand continue up to9.30pm,” elaborated Al Marri.

Marine transport

As for the marine transit modes working hours, the Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication, said: “The working hours of the Water Bus (through Al Khor Stations) starton Thursday at 7amand continue up to10pm and on Friday, from10am until 12am(midnight).

As for the Water Bus at Marina Station, services starton Thursday from 10amand continue up to 12 (midnight) andon Friday from 12pm(midday) to 12am (midnight).

The Water Taxi during the Eid holidays will be from10amup to10pm, Dubai Ferry will provide service at Al Ghubaiba Stationon FridayandSaturday from 11am,3pm,5pm, 6.30pm, while at Marina Station, Dubai Ferry will be operationalon FridayandSaturday from 11am,1pm,3pm,5pm and 6.30pm.”

“The vehicles testing and registration service will be closedon Saturday,Sunday, and Mondayand the services will resume onTuesday, October 7.
