In a series of tweets, both the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police have informed residents of road closures in the morning.

Please note that the fast lane will be closed (both directions) on Jumeirah road tomorrow 27/01/2017

For the traffic safety,avoid parking your car at Jumeirah Rd, Umm Suqeim and Al Qudra roads as #IRonMan Triathlon 2017 will be taking place.

The closures are because of the ongoing IRONMAN 70.3 Triathlon race that starts along Jumeirah Beach. Participants will then make their way through Al Qudra by cycle.
Specifically, Al Qudra fastlane going towards Arabian Ranches will be closed as participants pass through. Both RTA and Dubai Police have also advised against parking vehicles along Jumeirah Road, Umm Suqeim Road and Al Qudra Road for the same reason.
Motorists are advised to take alternative roads such as Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Wasl Road.
