Harat quick services for vehicle inspection, issuance and renewal of licences have achieved 90 per cent of customers’ satisfaction.
Data showed that the initiative launched by Sharjah Police has been a success, as over 13,000 vehicles were inspected in the past six months, despite the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) challenge.
The authorities take only five minutes to check a vehicle.
Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Ahmad Al Mahrezi, who heads the Technical Inspection Department at Sharjah Police, said the move was part of their endeavour to develop and provide an integrated service to customers.
The initiative is in sync with the Sharjah Police’s bid to upgrade their services and help achieve the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) goal of making the UAE’s roads as one of the safest in the world.
Al Mehrezi said the inspection drive catered to vehicles that were less than five years’ old.
Buoyed by the success of the programme, plans are afoot to expand the services to other parts of the emirate as well.
Vehicle owners can complete the renewal process after they obtain the results of the inspection drive from the MoI.
He urged the public to approach the Harat centres in a bid to expedite the vehicle inspection, issuance and renewal of licences.
