According to a senior official, the scheme is part of the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s initiatives to develop the infrastructure across the country.

Head of the Roads Section at the UAQ Planning and Survey Department Nael Al Awadi explained that the Suwaihat area consists of two main sections. “The first includes 168 residential plots — of which 98 per cent of the residential buildings have been completed, whereas the second — comprising 286 plots and 12km-long roads, is 65 per cent completed.”

The first and second Suwaihat areas, which are very close to the Salma area, are now seeing a constant construction and residential boom.

The newly built roads facilitate the traffic flow in the area and make it easier for residents to move from one place to another safely and more conveniently, he added.
