The Ajman Police have added 10 new patrols in various parts of the emirate - including industrial, commercial and residential areas - to prevent crimes and ensure safety. These patrols will be deployed 24x7.
The new patrols will play a huge role in boosting the security of the residents, said Capt Issa Mohammed Al Shamsi, head of the Department of Ambulance and Rescue at Ajman Police.
In many cases, the patrols have nabbed suspects trying to break into commercial complexes, shops and warehouses or stealing from parked vehicles. They also arrested more than 2,000 wanted people from across the emirate.
The Aman Patrols provided its services to over 2,000 motorists whose car broke down in the middle of public roads. They also helped children and the elderly to cross the road, and given direction to the people who have lost their way. They also followed up cases of missing adults and children.
The Aman Patrols have contributed in reducing the time of response to accidents by reaching the spot within 8 minutes.
Lt Al Nauman, a top police official, said the Aman Patrols was launched in October 2007 with 20 patrols and 60 officers. The number of patrols has increased to 30 and there are currently 80 patrol officers to prevent crimes and negative phenomenon in various parts of the emirate.
He said the patrols have been deployed with advanced equipment which function on smart technology and the staff are trained to efficiently combat various type of crimes in the emirate.
