The countdown to one of the world's largest shopping festivals has officially begun, and as the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) prepares to launch the landmark 25th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), the entire city is uniting together to create its most memorable edition yet.
A diverse DSF Calendar of Events was revealed on December 9 at a launch press conference held at Dubai Frame.
The festival will open on December 26, 2019 and run until February 1, 2020, featuring 38 days packed with showstopping performances, immersive experiences and celebrations.
The first edition of Dubai Shopping Festival was launched in 1996 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The festival is known for its deals and discounts, and this year DSF will kick off with a flash sale.
12 Hour Sale
DSF will kick off in style with an exclusive 12-hour Sale at select malls, giving customers up to 90 per cent off at Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Deira, City Centre Me'aisem, My City Centre Barsha and City Centre Al Shindagha. Running from midday to midnight on December 26, this year will see 25 winners take home Dh10,000 vouchers to be spent at Majid Al Futtaim malls.
DSF Surprises
From January 2-26, 2020, shoppers are encouraged to be on alert for daily surprise deals over 25 days.
Deals are announced 24 hours in advance for one brand at one location.
Emirates Airline
Anyone who purchases an Emirates economy class ticket to Dubai from now until February 1, 2020 with a return journey between December 26, 2019 and February 5, 2020, will enjoy an extra 10-kilogram baggage allowance for all their DSF shopping purchases on the return trip home.
