They included five expatriates who worked as tourists guides without having a licence, and 10 other people, who not only entered the country illegally but were also organising unlicenced Safari trips for tourists.
The arrests came as part of a campaign organised by the CID department.
Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazina, Deputy Commander-in- Chief of the Dubai Police, said that tourism Department of the Dubai Police had noted that some people were using their private cars in transporting tourists from hotels and resorts and organising tourist trips in collaboration with some employees of those organisation by paying them special commission.
He said that such activities are unlawful and might harm the tourism sector.
The police monitored their activities and arrested them in collaboration with the Department of Tourism.
Al Mazina said that the five expatriates were referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution.
He said that such crimes would have a negative effect on touristm companies.
He advised the tourists to travel in safe vehicles that are well-equipped and are run by well-trained staff.
He said that recognised tourism companies have better facilities and offer their customers excellent deals.
They have special locations and rest areas where tourist will have comfort.
