20 disturbing vehicles seized in Sharjah in a day

The Sharjah Police on Tuesday seized 20 vehicles for reckless driving and causing public disturbance in residential areas, said Brig. Saif Al Zeri, Commander-in-Chief of the Sharjah Police.
He added that some of the cars were modified to "produce annoying sounds" that disturbed residents.
A top official with the Traffic and Patrol Department of the Sharjah Police said the vehicles were seized from various residential areas in the emirate. The police carried out an inspection campaign following large number of complaints from residents.
He said the campaign targeted irresponsible youth who cause public nuisance that affect security, safety and stability in the community.
"We have zero tolerance towards those committing such dangerous violations for fun and pleasure," he said.
The official warned that the police would continue the inspection campaign in all residential areas and urged public to call 901 to report such illegal activities.
