20% drop in cases at Sharjah police station

Crime rates were decreased by 20 percent in the Wasit comprehensive police station in Sharjah during 2015.
The crime rate fell significantly in 2015 from 2014, in which 511 crimes were recorded.Lt.Col Abdullah Humaid, Director of Wasit Police Station - which covers a large number of areas - attributed the decrease in the crime rate to police efforts in terms of precautionary measures and crime protection as well as efforts taken to spread awareness among the public.

Thefts : 19%
Financial disputes :  27%
Traffic cases : 15%
He said, for example, that the number of thefts recorded in in 2015 was only 19 per cent of the total, and financial dispute cases only 27 per cent.Humaid added that in 2015, officers at the station managed to solve a large number of financial disputes amicably and restored Dh 9,615,886 to its owners.
He added that there was also a 15 per cent reduction in traffic cases. Additionally, he noted that the station achieved high speeds in providing services. In 2015 it provided 58 kinds of services in 9 minutes, compared to 39 in 2014.
