Ras Al Khaimah - The woman's husband, who was driving the car had dozed off and lost control over the steering wheel.

A 25-year-old Indian woman, identified as Divya Praveen, succumbed to injuries she received in an accident in Ras Al Khaimah.
Prasad Sreedharan, a social worker affiliated to the Consulate General of India (CGI) in Dubai, told Khaleej Times that the accident took place at Khiran area early on Sunday morning.
Sources with the RAK Police told Khaleej Times that the central operations room instantly dispatched traffic patrols, an ambulance, paramedics and the rescue teams to the site when alerted about the incident.
"Initial enactment of the accident showed that the woman's husband, who was driving the car had dozed off, lost control over the steering wheel and rammed into a lamppost on the roadside."
"Unfortunately, a young Indian woman from Kerala, died on the way to the hospital due to the impact of the collision with a lamppost at the Khiran area."
Indian Relief Committee President Dr Nisham Noorudheen, said Divya's husband Praveen P.A. and their two-year-old son Daksh, who was seated in a child seat at the back, were lucky enough to have a narrow escape from the crash.
"The trio was travelling back to Ras Al Khaimah after attending a celebration in Sharjah, said Pushpan Govindan, a social worker with Indian Relief Committee in Ras Al Khaimah."
