As part of the 44th National Day celebrations, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality has decorated the Capital city and suburban areas with thousands of flags and lights. The decorations signify the values of belonging and loyalty to the leadership, and the glory of this day that set the pillar of the most successful Arab model of union.
The lighting works include geometric shapes inspired by the grandeur of the national occasion, reflecting the jubilation of the UAE nationals and expatriates.
Abu Dhabi has been decked with 25,000 flags and 3,000 geometric shapes. The shapes include expressions such as 'Long Live Our UAE Federation,' 'Long Live my Country', and those depicting the UAE's official emblem. Additionally, hundreds of shapes bear the words 'UAE' in Arabic and English. The decoration works also include small models hanging on trees carrying the UAE's official emblem, Spirit of the Union emblem and other lighting works of various shapes and designs.
The municipality stated that the Corniche Street has been richly decorated with eye-catching lighting works.
The municipality said it has attached great importance to safety and security standards and was keen to use high-quality electric cables in all decoration works to ensure safety.
