In its latest effort to make the public aware of real motive of Daesh, Sawab Centre, a joint UAE-US initiative, has begun an online campaign in the country.
The Sawab Centre launched the three-day campaign entitled "Our Nation Our Pride" on its Twitter account to spread nationalism among the citizens.
The campaign intends to emphasise the importance of fight against terrorism and extremist ideology. The centre said the campaign is part of its efforts in the fight against destructive ideas that work to destabilise the security of the homeland.
Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, said: "Daesh, and similar extremist groups which are spreading hatred, is attempting to disrupt the friendliness between the Islamic affiliation and love for the homeland, in a desperate attempt to portray love for the homeland as a crime."
He stressed the need for the international community's continuation of its war against Daesh and efforts to reduce smuggling of Iraqi and Syrian artefacts in cooperation with Unesco and other organisations concerned with the preservation of the global heritage. - Wam
