The Court of First Instance heard that two men, both Palestinians (a student, 26, and a public relations coordinator, 25) stole (along with a runaway accomplice) Dh314,000 and 180,000 Iraqi dinars from a safe in an Iranian woman's flat.
The court was told the woman was working in prostitution.
The woman has been charged with prostitution. The two men are also accused of having consensual sex out of the wedlock and theft.
The incident took place on April 14 after the woman received the three men in her flat in Oud Al Muteena, Al Muraqqabat.
She told prosecutors she had met the two accused and another man in a night club at 2am on April 14. They had an agreement to have sex with her for Dh2,500. She welcomed them in her flat about one hour later and let them have sex with her one after the other after she was paid the amount.
She kept the money in a safe which she locked with a serial number in front of them.
She then received a phone call from another client and was asked to go to him. "One of the men in my place told me he wanted to have sex with me again for money and he would wait for me until I came back. I left him there."
She left with the two others at 5.30am and came back at 8.45am. "I found the flat's door was broken open and the man was missing. And the money I kept in the safe (Dh314,000 and 180,000 Iraqi dinars) was gone".
She then reported the incident to the police.
The two men were tracked after the fingerprints of one of them (left on the bathroom's door handle) had a match in the police database.
The police learnt that the third man left the UAE to Indonesia on the same day the incident happened. The next hearing will be held on August 28.
