As many as 33 vehicles were seized by the authorities, according to the Abu Dhabi City Municipality.
The municipality carried out an inspection drive in the city, through the City Municipal Centre and the Integrated Transport Centre.
The campaign covered several parts of the Capital and resulted in the removal of abandoned vehicles left unattended for a long period. The vehicles were towed away to impounding yard.
The municipality said it will continue such campaigns as part of the implementation of the provisions of Law No (2) for 2012 governing the Public Appearance, Health and Tranquility in Abu Dhabi along with its executive regulation. According to the provisions of this law a fine of Dh3,000 is issued to offenders, the municipality said.
Through such campaigns, the municipality seeks to raise public awareness about not abandoning vehicles in public areas and facilities for long periods.
