Four people were killed and three others injured in four separate traffic accidents in Dubai in the last two days.
On Saturday, an Emirati was killed after his car overturned on Emirates Road. Such was the impact of the accident that the vehicle, which was moving towards Dubai, landed on the opposite side, said Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the Dubai Police's Traffic Department.
In another accident on Saturday, a van deviated from its lane and hit four persons who were walking through the road median in Jebel Ali, killing one of them and injuring three.
Brig. Al Mazroui said that in another accident, took place in Jebel Ali on Saturday, one person was killed after he was hit by a heavy truck. He was standing on the right lane of the road, after beside his car which got damaged during this journey. He was hit by the heavy truck unexpectedly and died on the spot.
On Friday, an Emirati driver of a car was killed when the car he was driving on the Emirates Road from sharjah to Dubai hit the concrete barrier and jumped to the opposite direction of the road. The car then crashed into a heavy truck, shattering it into two parts. The driver died on the spot due to his severe injuries.
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui called on road users to be careful and to abide by traffic laws to avoid accidents.
