A housemaid accused her 62-year-old sponsor of raping her several times at his place under threats.
The Court of First Instance was told the Emirati sponsor had raped and sexually assaulted his Filipina maid several times after he had threatened to beat her up if she resisted him.
She reported him to Al Qusais police station on October 4.
The 52-year-old maid said during investigation that she had come to the UAE in September 2016 on a visa sponsored by the accused. "He raped and sexually assaulted me on several occasions and each time he would threaten to assault me if I did not do as he pleased".
She said around noon on the day she filed the complaint, her employer barged inside her room. "He forced himself on me after he threatened me as usual. I tried to keep him away but stopped when he threatened me. I felt so scared and did not scream because there was no one but us in the flat".
She ran away and complained against him at the police station.
She told the interrogators that her sponsor's sexual abuse began in March. She failed to tell anyone about it because she felt afraid of what he could do to her.
The forensic report concluded the complainant was indeed raped by her employer.
Bruises were found on her body.
The trial will continue on December 24.
