Apart from wearing the record of the world's tallest building with pride, the UAE has many more world records it can be proud of. Here are just some of those great world records you should definitely know about.

Tallest hotel

Apart from titleholder Burj Khalifa, the UAE is also home to the world's tallest hotel. The JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai stands at 1,165.84 feet with 77 floors. And if that isn't enough, it beats it twice since the hotel has two towers - both of the same size.

Largest standing lantern

Measuring up to 42 feet and 11 inches, the largest standing lantern can be found in the emirate of Sharjah in Souq Al Jubail. The lantern is made of wood and copper.

Most expensive headwear sold at auction

Be careful putting this one on as it costs an astounding Dh24,050,000! The headwear was sold at an auction organized by the Al Jalila Foundation in Dubai and was actually worn by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Highest restaurant from ground level

The highest restaurant can be found where else than the tallest building. At.mosphere sits on the 122^nd floor of the Burj Khalifa and is elevated to a height of 1,447 feet and 10 inches. But before you get excited, bookings have to be made in advance.             

Largest flag suspended

Made by the Meydan group, the largest flag ever suspended measures 26, 496 ft², 15.8 in² and is the largest UAE flag to have ever flown. The unfurling of this flag was observed by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Most nationalities washing their hands simultaneously

72 nationalities washed their hands together in Dubai to celebrated Global Handwashing Day with more than 200 participants. They hailed from all four corners of the globe such as Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bolivia, Estonia, Hungary, Iraq, Malawi, Palestine, Syria, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

Largest synchronised 'car dance'

Cars? Dance? In the UAE that is a resounding yes. With 121 cars, Pepsi collaborated with Impact BBDO, Swerve Entertainment and INSA to form a peace sign using 4x4s in the Margham Desert of Dubai.
