Fresh graduates with skill sets related to the 'Internet of Things' and 'Robotics' will be the most in demand by UAE employers in the future.
This was Revealed at the announcement of the UAE 'Economic Graph' by LinkedIn, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Smart Dubai Office.
'The Economic Graph' is a digital mapping of the global economy, based on data of the UAE's 3million LinkedIn users. It is the first such graph of its kind.
Dr Shady ElAsra, Data Scientist at LinkedIn said the data was based on three main aspects: "Workforce, Education, and Future innovation and skills".
And Dr Ali Mattar, Head of LinkedIn said education was a focus because "students are tomorrow's professionals".
Research and data from the graph showed that 75 per cent of UAE university graduates remained and started their careers in the UAE.
And when it comes to the most popular fields of study for undergraduate students in the UAE now, Business management, Computer science, and Civil engineering took center stage.
But this could soon change in light of the future skill-set demand which the data highlighted.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Dr Ahmad Belhoul, ?Minister of State for Higher Education Affairs at MoE said the fact that education was a focus of the data was "hugely important" to the sector.
"It will shape and influence a lot of positive change when it comes to university-demand in the UAE."
The data also revealed that the UAE is one of the top 3 countries with the fastest growing group of happiness professionals, with a YoY growth of over 100 per cent.
