In the past eight years of Pink Caravan Ride, there have been some 770 volunteers and 569 riders promoting the campaign across seven emirates. Not only is the number of volunteers and riders growing but there is a remarkable presence of Emiratis in the mix too. In fact, Ras Al Khaimah leg saw an eight-month-old volunteer make a visit to the mobile medical clinic.
Ameera, daughter of Hamed who himself is volunteering along with his 36-year-old twin brother Khaled Al Hamid, is the youngest volunteer in this year's trek. While Khaled joined the campaign just four years back, Hamed is volunteering since the first edition.
"The Pink Caravan Ride is my home and everyone taking part in it is considered a family member. Every year, we trek in all the emirate and we are greeted warmly by residents. It is a beautiful feeling when you know that your work has helped lives," Hamed said.
