Nearly nine in 10 Dubai residents are satisfied with how the government has been dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, a survey revealed on Sunday. The poll, conducted by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, showed that 88 per cent of residents were happy with the precautionary measures taken by the government to fight the spread of the virus.

About 89 per cent residents expressed satisfaction with the changes made to government services to ensure continued access even at the height of the crisis.
As he announced the results, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, said he was "proud of our teams" who prioritised the safety of all residents. "Investing in our national talents have paid off today; we have built a government mechanism that anticipates the challenges ahead," he said.
"Dubai's constructive and swift response to the Covid-19 crisis was focused on ensuring the safety of citizens, residents and visitors, and defusing the negative economic impact of the crisis."
He credited the "forward-looking vision" of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the UAE's "proactive approach" in dealing with the challenges of the pandemic.
This came as the Dubai Crown Prince met members of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme.
He stressed that the results of the 'Public Satisfaction Survey on Dubai's Covid-19 Response' "reflect the government's strategic and comprehensive response to the pandemic". He also hailed the "relentless efforts" of all frontline government entities and private institutions to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the Dubai community.
