In line with the UAE's vision of establishing the country as the capital of cultural and knowledge content, Amana Healthcare recently launched an open library at their Abu Dhabi Medical and Rehabilitation Hospital. The library was inaugurated by Shaikha Hend Al Qasimi and Dr Fatima Al Darmaki.

Magi Livadaris, vice-president of clinical operations, said: "We applaud and congratulate the leaders of the UAE for their far-sighted emphasis on reading for the prosperity, happiness and future of the nation. By creating this open library, Amana Healthcare gives people with complex medical needs - children and adults who may spend years at a time in hospital - the opportunity to expand their minds and let their imaginations soar. This not only reflects the vision and values of the UAE but is also consistent with Amana's focus on social reintegration and maximising the quality of life."
