Abu Dhabi Police, Siraj Malayalam Daily sign MoU

ABU DHABI — Abu Dhabi Police and Kerala-based Siraj Malayalam newspaper, on Sunday signed an MoU on cooperation between the two parties.

The newspaper will serve as a media conduit with Indian community members in the UAE.

The signing of the MoU was attended by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police and Shaikh Kanthapuram Abubaker Musiliar, Chairman of Siraj Publishing Group.

The MoU was signed by Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Technical and Security Media Affairs Department for Abu Dhabi Police, and MKM Abbas, Editor-in-chieffor Siraj daily.

Major General Badran welcomed the agreement between the two, and underlined the keenness of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in boosting cooperation between UAE and the friendly India in the fields of common interest.

He also praised the efforts being made by Siraj newspaper, which is also issued in Dubai, for educating the Indian community members in the UAE, by making known to them and explaining the procedures, laws and regulations.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Musiliar said the Indian community in the UAE with its all diversified cultures is the biggest in the country, with the number of Malyalees of Keralabeing the greatest at 1.5 million. “Therefore, it is our duty to consider their creative contributions and keep in touch with them.”
