Abu Dhabi - After a break during Ramadan, the Abu Dhabi Summer Season will resume its shows and entertainment activities this Eid al Fitr with two live concerts in Abu Dhabi And Al Ain.
Legendary Saudi singer, Mohammed Abdo, whose popularity earned him the nickname "The Artist of the Arabs", will perform at du Forum in Abu Dhabi's Yas island on July 18.
A singer with a distinguished voice for whom princes and poets have written special lyrics, Abdo has been serenading his legions of fans for 50 years now and he is expected to once again fill up the du arena this Saturday night.
"It is always a great pleasure for me to come and sing in the United Arab Emirates and perform in front of so many people who enjoy my music. To help celebrate Eid Al Fitr, I will make the night even more special for the crowd and me. I can't wait to be there and be part of a memorable evening in Abu Dhabi," he said.
On the same night, at the eastern end of the emirate, Al Ain residents will have a live concert featuring Emirati singer Habib Elyasi.
After performing at Al Ain Municipality Theatre on July 18, Elyasi will travel to Abu Dhabi for a second concert on July 19 at du Forum. Both of Elyasi's concerts will be opened with an art show by Palestinian speed painter Mohammed Al Dairi.
Tickets for the Eid shows, which are brought to the capital by Flash Entertainment, are available from www.ticketmaster.ae and all Virgin Megastore outlets across the UAE with prices starting from Dh75 and going up to Dh200.
Organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), the Abu Dhabi Summer Season will continue until September 5.
Apart from its more regular partner Flash Entertainment, TCA is also working this summer with Alchemy Project, YAK Events and MBC Group to bring in shows for adults and children.
The programme will include the Illuminaire, a Fire-and-Light Spectacular, a show that combines modern circus techniques with concert/stadium based special effects, gymnastics, acrobatics and dance, as well as electronic sound production.
