Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has felicitated and hailed its new cohort of graduates in a ceremony held recently.
The university celebrated the graduation of 640 undergraduate and 251 postgraduate students of its tenth graduating class held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and President of ADU's Board of Regents.
The tenth graduating class also included 297 graduates of Doctor of Business Administration graduates and 189 cadets from the university's military programmes.
Shaikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Vice-President of Abu Dhabi University's Board of Regents inaugurated the ceremony, in the presence of Shaikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Saeed Eid Al Ghafli Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs, Nasser Ahmad Al Suwaidi Chairman of the Energy Authority, Dr Hadef Bin Jua'an Al Daheri, Hadi bin Nasser Mansour Al Hajri, Ambassador of Qatar to the UAE, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri Abu Dhabi Education Council's Executive Director of School Operations and members of ADU's faculty and staff, as well as the graduates' families.
During his speech, Shaikh Nahyan noted that he is proud of what the students, as well as the university, have achieved throughout the years.
"We always remember His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The President of the UAE, saying that the sons and daughters of the nation are its true fortune whom we have to prepare, qualify, develop their abilities to achieve excellence, innovation and creativity and provide them with all opportunities to participate in the development of society."
