Global logistics provider Agility announced that it has expanded its Abu Dhabi vehicle fleet with 30 new Mercedes-Benz Actros Benz trucks.
The vehicles were supplied by Agility's long-term vendor Emirates Motor Company, or EMC, the authorised distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group.
Bassel El Dabbagh, chief executive officer of Agility Abu Dhabi, said: "We continue to invest in overland transportation to support our growth strategy and maintain our position as one of the leading logistics service providers in Abu Dhabi. The investment in 30 new Actros Benz trucks has enabled further expansion of our extensive local and regional distribution services, allowing us to meet the growing transportation needs of our customers while providing our drivers with a safer and more comfortable ride under various road conditions."
The vehicles were delivered to Agility's Abu Dhabi operations office in Mussafah. The handover event was attended by officials from both Agility and EMC, and included a professional training session for Agility drivers and operations staff.
Qualified trainers from EMC led the day-long session, which included a presentation and hands-on training on how to drive Mercedes-Benz trucks efficiently to ensure optimum on- and off-road vehicle performance.
Bilal Al Ribi, general manager of EMC Daimler Commercial Vehicles, said: "EMC is delighted at the opportunity to continue supplying trucks to Agility. Mercedes-Benz has heavily invested in the latest technologies to make its high-end truck models more fuel efficient, comfortable and reliable even in the toughest road conditions. We are confident that the new fleet of Actros Benz trucks will help Agility to better serve the growing logistics and transport requirements of their clients."
